PARTIAL DENTURES
Digital dentistry is the application of CAD/CAM (Computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing) technology in the field of dentistry. Digital dentistry is different from traditional dentistry in its use of an intraoral scanner (like a miniature camera) to take digital dental impressions.
Digital dentistry can be used in place of traditional physical impressions, in which the patient bites down on gooey impression materials to create a cast mold of their oral cavity.
When possible, digital dentistry shows enhanced accuracy over traditional methods, which means fewer dental appointments, better quality and more esthetically pleasing restorations.
